In the Midst of Our Going and Being: A Guide to Discipleship and Making Disciples

Matthew 28:16-20

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.

In the midst of skepticism – bold worship.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

In the midst of a spiritual battle – bold declaration of authority.

If Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth, what authority have I given him in my life?

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

In the midst of our going –instructions for bold responses

What does it look like for me to be a disciple and to make disciples?

20b And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

In the midst of our being – a bold proclamation of peace.
